CNY Eve 2011

The day starts with sending Beatrice to school for her school CNY celebration. Can't remember what I did for the whole morning at home. Anyway, pick her up after school. Brought her to My Village to check out the place and to have some snack before meeting my in-laws for reunion dinner.

You probably has saw my tweet about the early meeting up and waiting outside the restaurant. Was told the dinner starts at 5pm, with typical parents that like to reach early, we make a point to reach there at 4.45pm, only to find out that dinner is at 5.30pm. Well, my in-laws arrived at 4.15am! :(

This is to teach me a lesson to keep reminding Brian to check the timing & not assumed some of those old fixed time. Well, if you have been following my blog, you should have read about occasions where we arrived at dinner place where they had almost finished their dinner.

Went to the nursery to get a mini pot of flowers to brighten the house for the season. Wanted to watch movie at the NEX, only to realise my skirt is torn. My skirt must have hook onto some nail/pole at the nursery which I didn't even know, there was no big pull force at all. Well, it was so bad, I have to throw away the whole skirt.

Paid $5 for this small pot of flower in exchange for my Gap denim skirt. :((

Pre CNY Dinner

Our office practice to have buffet meal before the company closes for CNY. Since CNY falls on Thu & Fri, the office decided not to close for a week. As such company provided off-day on eve and buffet was set on the day earlier.

It was an early dinner with sun still shining high. Didn't managed to take any photo of the food, only the lao yu sheng was captured on my camera.

Pussy Willows

My family's favourite plant during CNY. Some doesn't like the silky buds that looks like worms, they will leave the vase dry.  My family believe it is "wang".. prosperity when it bloom!

My brother will add ice everyday and change the water every other day to ensure no mosquitoes breeding and to ensure the water does not overflow.

I'm used to seeing this every year, it's actually a beauty when it's still green. The ugly sight will come when it starts to turn brown.

Home Reunion Dinner 2011

Today is my family reunion dinner. Yes, it's usually early as the actual day is reserved for my in-laws family and my brother work shifts so we need to suit one another timing.

Bakerzin Suntec cum Rabbit Show

Went to Suntec Toys"R"Us to get a gift for Brian's niece birthday. On the way there, Beatrice was attracted to the red chairs at the cafe. Went there for coffee after getting the gift.

She alone finish almost the whole slice of cake!

Since CNY is near the corner, there is a display of the many breeds of rabbits at the concourse area. So we spend some time  looking at the rabbits. This is here that she requested me to get a chinchilla again.

Playful Puppy

The Sunday ends with Beatrice setting up her own Lego playful puppy with the help of mommy, of course.

This has been assemble according to the instruction but not to Beatrice's satisfaction. She commented, the 2 puppies can't even go into their dog house!


On the box shows another picture of the dog house, open concept. So mommy got it assemble for her. With the extra bricks yet not enough, mommy set a dog house with nice front but with holes at the back, and a table for the dog food.

And mommy is happy with her Lego skill. Yeah! :)
